Descriptions
Description:
This is one of a series of three mines: one antipersonnel, one antivehicular, and one antitank mine. These mines are all flat-cylindrical in shape. The antipersonnel and antivehicular versions use a shaped-charge effect to project fragments. The antitank mine uses a steel plate. All three mines utilize a two-piece stand with four legs, a rear centrally located fuze well, and a top-mounted aiming device with a flat dovetailed viewing section. These mines are normally fired by controlled electric detonation., This antitank plate-charge mine is "aimed" horizontally at a target area. The device is reported to be capable of penetrating 50 mm of armor plate at 50 meters, leaving a 200-mm puncture hole.
